The work of PMRS is guided by its belief in the principal of health as a fundamental human right. Not only do our mobile clinics contribute to the direct provision of health care to those most vulnerable, but on a wider scale, work tirelessly to advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people who are suffering under Israeli occupation.

Letting voices be heard
With our presence on the ground in areas most affected by the occupation - by, for example the Apartheid Wall and the settlements – we are perfectly situated to listen to what affects people the most. Through passing up the information in local meetings, monthly health cluster meetings, and on to national and international NGOs and governmental structures such as the ministry of health, we are able to give the Palestinian people worst affected by the situation on the ground an international voice.
We also provide a voice to those directly affected by the situation in either their physical or mental wellbeing. For those affected by, for example, settler violence, or the psychological problems related to the daily hardships of occupation, we can advocate on their behalf for access to appropriate services; be it medication, assistive devices or counseling. We facilitate contact between individuals and the organizations best equipped to help them.

A conflict guide
Our mobility and awareness of the situation on the ground makes us excellent guides who are able to get to the places worst affected by the occupation and explain in detail what is happening there. Providing information and insight for solidarity groups plays a big part of our advocacy role. By exposing international supporters to the reality and objective narratives, we are able to propagate the truth to the international community, as knowledge is the first step towards action.

A pair of eyes
By being in the areas where we work, we bear witness to the array of problems affecting the Palestinian communities. These problems are not confided solely to health care. Obviously, we feel an obligation to bring these issues to the attention of national and international bodies,  and we are able to provide documentation and photographic evidence of the situation; the destruction of olive trees, the problem of untreated sewage, availability of water and electricity and closures which negatively affect all aspects of life.

A media messenger
Our mobile clinics provide a vital service as an emergency health care provider for the protestors at demonstrations like those against the construction of the Apartheid Wall. We are able, through our presence at these politically important occasions, to act as an articulate and trustworthy voice to the media, representing the cause through interviews and statements.

Our relationship with donors
Through our relationship with our international donors such as Oxfam, CARE, Medico International and foreign governments, we are able to clearly outline the situation here in Palestine through our detailed proposals, and thus increase international awareness of the situation we face, as well as the precious help and partnerships needed to build a future Palestinian State.
