For over 18 years, PMRS has been offering services to disabled Palestinians in our society. Recently in the beginning of July, PMRS
launched a camp for youth of all ages in cooperation with their families.
The Center of the Martyr Salah Khalaf in association with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Camp assisted the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in organizing the camp for the youth, volunteers, and their families. This camp has been organized and implemented the past 4 years.
The organizers of the weeklong camp was the Palestinian Medical Relief Society under the supervision of the specialist, Majeda Abu Ghosh.
The aim of this camp is to develop the capacity of the children on all levels of life through a process of community integration for the various activities carried out in the camp, using environmental and natural resources surrounding them. This camp enabled the youth and their families to enjoy a week of eventful activities such as swimming, dancing, and singing. The children were given the chance have opportunities that are not always available to them. They had the chance to love and enjoy life.
The cooperation and donations that were dedicated in this project is greatly appreciated. The following organizations helped make this summer camp possible:
• Ministry of Youth and Sports
• Coca Cola
• Salwa
• Rayan Dairy
• Sarafandi Bakery
• Al-Waha Swimming Pool – Al-Bathan
• Masar
• Ghadeer Poultry
• Al-Ameer Poultry
•Al-Quds Poultry
• Donations from local groceries and from Palestinian citizens.
Without the dedication and endless efforts of everyone who contributed in this, it would not have been possible. Especially the help of the volunteers and the families who accompanied the children in the camp. This will inevitably work to promote and work for more opportunities for children with disabilities with the hope of keeping a smile on their faces.
